Annual Wellness Exams

During your annual physical exam, your veterinarian fully examines your pet and discusses vaccinations and ongoing wellness. Just like you do wellness visits with your doctor, it’s important that your pet does the same. During these visits, our team will spend time examining your pet from nose to tail.

Pet Vaccination

Vaccines contain small quantities of modified or “killed” viruses, bacteria, or other disease-causing organisms. When administered, they stimulate your pet’s immune system to produce disease-fighting cells and proteins – or antibodies- to protect against such diseases. During your pet’s wellness exam, we will make recommendations for vaccine schedules specific to their age, species, and breed.

Heartworm Flea and Tick Prevention

Heartworm testing

Heartworm, flea, and tick prevention are always preferable to treating an infestation in progress. While adult fleas and ticks can certainly be removed and killed, they may have already transmitted their deadly disease payload by that point. Treating an advanced case of heartworm is a long, difficult, and not always successful process in dogs; cats cannot safely receive heartworm treatment at all, making heartworm prevention an absolute must.

Parasite Prevention

Intestinal parasite screening

A simple method to ensure that your pet stays parasite free. This screening can ensure that you and your family are protected from being exposed to any parasites that can be transmitted from your pet.

Annual Labwork

Felv/fiv testing

Running labwork once yearly, year after year, allows us to establish baseline values and allows us to monitor trends over time, increasing the likelihood that we can detect disease in the earliest stages.
